Hi, tanspace! I was wondering if you had been back to QQ Noodle since your first experience and if you had a better experience. I went there today for the first time and enjoyed it so much that when I went home, I promptly looked it up on Chowhound to see if other folk had commented on it. It seems like a pity to judge the food on a day when there were obvious problems… Mind you, I’m not an expert, just an Asian gal who’s eaten a LOT of Chinese food and I’d thought this was an great experience in Chinese comfort food.

I was REALLY surprised to hear about the scissors. Not nary a pair were in sight when I went today and, personally, I’d thought that the noodles were excellent. (I am really, really unhappy when presented with a mushy soup noodle. To me, tough, undercooked noodles are a sign of incompetence, whereas overcooked soup noodles are, well, something more along the lines of a crime against humanity.)

Hmm… I’ve seen it done for utility’s sake at other noodle restaurants, but maybe QQ removed them for fear of the insinuation that, as your review stated, their noodles are tough?

Anyways, cool site! Always glad to see ramen reviews. :)

Actually I have not gone back yet but I do intend to. It is good that they are still keeping up with the quality. Perhaps they’ve removed the scissors because they’ve let up a bit on the noodle’s chewiness?
I agree wholeheartedly with you regarding the cooking of the noodles. Do let us know if you find any other good place with quality noodles.
