Darda is good for family dinner (very loud place so kids should fit right in). But it is northern style so expect to eat lots of sesame bread and knife-cut noodles - one of the best for it.
Dynasty is HK/Cantonese but is more banquet style so very high-end and expensive ingredients = expensive price for what you get. They have 10 people set dinners from around $200~$600 range.
One place that is seldom mentioned but has both authentic and Americanized Chinese is Hong Fu in Cupertino on Stevens Creek & De Anza across from Marina foods. Also on the higher price side but some of their dishes on the Chinese menu are quite good such as their Xiao Chao (stir-fried plates) dishes.
